Z časti autobiografický album, hardcore hip hop, ktorý získal vynikajúce ocenenia a stal sa komerčným úspechom, ktorý to dotiahol na štvor-platinu. Znamenal to aj oživenie scény na východe, hlavne keď hip hop bol hlavne dominantný na západe. Bol nominovaný za najlepšie solo vystúpenie za singel Big Poppa na Grammy roku 1996.
