Czech - American TV (also known as CATVUSA) is a non-profit charitable organization formed under section 501(c)(3), broadcasting educational programs aimed at promoting Czech heritage and culture. Their object is simmilar to the PBS.^[1] Founded in 2003 by John Honner, an American television producer of Czech origin, the network provides a unique platform dedicated to Central European culture and heritage, offering informative content about Czech regions, traditions, history, cuisine, and events. ^[2]

History

The inspiration behind Czech-American TV stemmed from John Honner's exposure to ORF - Austrian television program ("Hello Austria - Hello Vienna") and American TV magazine (Rick Steves´ Europe). Drawing from these influences, Honner established the organization to create a show focused exclusively on the Czechs. ^[3] Czech-American TV is broadcast in several states in the USA, reaching over 6 million viewers.
